In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, finding balance can often feel like an out-there goal. We juggle multiple responsibilities, commitments, and aspirations, which often leaves us feeling overwhelmed and disconnected. This is why balance has become not only my mantra but also my way of life, my business, my advice, and my wellbeing. Balance is something that is present in our everyday life and is something we have to practice. This is where embracing awareness comes in. By becoming more mindful of our actions and choices, through our daily processes, we can prioritize what truly matters to us. In this blog post, we’ll explore three effective strategies for how to find balance in your own life and what that looks like for you!

Strategy 1: Mindful Reflection - Dance with Your Thoughts:

Picture yourself in a serene moment, perhaps sitting in a cozy corner with a warm cup of tea or lying on a beach listening to the waves. That's the vibe we're going for with our mindful reflections. Take time each day to dance with your thoughts through practices like journaling or meditation. The goal is to create a mental space to connect with your thoughts. 

In our digital age, it's easy to get swept up by a fast-paced lifestyle. We’re all aware of the time we spend each day scrolling through social media or news outlets. Mindful reflection encourages us to pause and ponder our actions, choices, and priorities. 

  • Look inward and identify what brings you genuine joy, fulfillment, and aligns with your core values. 

  • Uncover those little moments that make your heart sing and the activities that leave you feeling energized.

Strategy 2: Setting Intentions - Plot Your Course for the Day:

Ah, the excitement of planning out your tasks, goals, and intentions for the day! Some of us are planners and some of us are doers, but you can be both! As you wake up each morning, take a moment to envision the day ahead. Ask yourself what tasks or activities are crucial for your overall well-being, personal growth, and long-term goals. 

Whether it's devoting time to hobbies you're passionate about or investing in self-care rituals, write down your intentions for the day. Seeing them on paper brings them to life and provides a sense of clarity and commitment. Throughout the day, refer back to your intentions and reflect and pivot where you need to. Allow them to serve as reminders to steer clear of distractions and stay on track towards your goals and intentions. Remember that no one is perfect, and there will be ups and downs during this process, give yourself grace!

Strategy 3: Regular Evaluation and Adjustment - Embrace the Rhythm of Change:

Life is always changing, that’s why it’s essential to build in moments of regular evaluation and adjustment. This is a time where you can think back about what worked and what didn’t and fine-tune your actions to be more in-line with your intentions.  

You can choose to reflect and evaluate on a weekly or monthly basis, depending on what works for you. Look back at your progress and take note of any imbalances or areas where you may be neglecting important aspects of your life. Embrace this discovery phase, as it opens the door to growth and positive change, while allowing you to give yourself constructive criticism.
